July 4th Celebration

*** Come Join the Parade ***

“Great American Traditions.”

Thursday, July 4th, 2024

Work has begun on the 2024, Independence Day Celebration! We already have groups signing up to be in the parade so get your thinking cap on and get your group together and start planning your entry in the Scott County/ Georgetown Independence day Parade and celebration. We need music in our parade so if you play an instrument or know of a marching band type group, let us know. We had a lot of feedback from people in the community wanting bands in the parade. What’s a parade without marching bands anyway? Help us make this annual event bigger and better than ever. Contact us at the email address listed below.

All groups throughout Scott County are welcome to join YOUR parade through downtown Georgetown and help us celebrate our great country on its birthday! Anyone can participate and there is absolutely NO entry fee. We are looking for Veterans, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church Groups, Ladies groups, Men’s groups, Car groups, Motorcycle groups, Bicycle clubs and lots and lots of children because parades seem to bring out the child in all of us.

Start working on your float now. The Theme for this years Parade is: “Great American Traditions.” All floats need to be decorated in typical Red, White and Blue.
